We come alongside in the preliminary stages of planning and work alongside your team through the completion of your project.NEI earthworks was started when Josh Stice and Scott Stice moved there family’s to Idaho.Josh and Scott had been running NEI,inc a general engineering contractor based inCoachella valley, CA specializing in mass grading. It all started in 1982 when Pete Peters and Wayne Waters founded Nuevo Engineering Inc. a general engineering contractor based in the Coachella Valley, CA specializing in the mass grading of Golf courses and masterplanned communities. Pete and Wayne where two young men with big dreams. They were highly motivated and willing to put in the work it would take to become the Coachella valley’s premier mass grading contractor.

There projects started out small but it take long and there project size and team began to grow. Being awarded there first golf course PGA west Golf Resort in LA Quinta, CA as their project size grew so did their need for employees. Jim Stice ( Josh Stice and Scott Stice’s dad) started in 1982 he was their first employee. Jim started out as a heavy equipment operator running a Michigan 210 scraper. Jim worked as a heavy equipment operator in the early years and later he became there equipment superintendent. Josh and Scott would go to work with their dad any chance they got. Even swimming in the lakes at PGA WEST while they were grading that project.In 1983 they hired Dave Roach. Dave was 23 years old when he came to work for NEI. He started as a grade checker. Dave would drive his personal vehicle around the jobsite a baja bug loaded up with lath and supplies for the day.Dave was always all in. He gave everything he had every day. It wasn’t long and he was promoted to the Forman position.Dave has an amazing skill to motivate his crew and manage their daily activities. DaveRoach was a vital part of what made NUEVO ENG./NEI.INC become a successful massgrading contractor. Dave has worked for NUEVO ENG/NEI,INC for over 40 years.IN 1986 they hired Jamie spencer she started as a secretary answering the phone. Jamie is another one of NEI,INC team that worked hard at her job. She was soon promoted to office manager.

Jamie did the work of three employees from bookkeeping to payroll and dispatch.It didn’t matter what time of day you called she answered to make sure everything was set up for the next day. She is a vital part of what has made NUEVO ENG./NEI,INC successful.Jamie has worked for NUEVO ENG/NEI,INC FOR OVER 40 YEARS.These are just a few of the many team members that have played a vital role inmakingNUEVO ENG./NEI,INC the premier mass grading contractor in the Coachella valley, ca.NUEVO ENG. Had established themselves with a very impressive resume. Completing the mass grading on the majority of the golf courses and master planned communitiesin theCoachella Valley.In 1997 Scott Stice went to work for NUEVO ENG. Full time. He started as a heavy-equipment operator running a water pullat the PRIMM VALLEYgolf club. In 2006 Pete Peters decided to retire from NUEVO ENG. He wanted to spend more time fishing , farming and ranching. Pete taught us all so much. Pete was always trying to find a more efficient way of doing every aspect of moving dirt. If you ever had the pleasure of working for him he left a lasting impression.After Pete retired Scott Stice started helping Wayne Waters with a few projectsincluding a tank site forCoachellavalley water district that had a300’cut100’fill and 300,000 cy.ofshot rock. In 2009 Wayne and Scott formed NEI,inc using NUEVO ENG. Logo. There wasn’t much work in the Coachella valley in 2009. Work slowly started to pick up and NEI,inc was awarded Chuckawalla Raceway. NEI,inc helped in the design stages of the project completing takeoffs and 3D models to help create a site that balanced eliminating the need for import or export of dirt.In 2012 Wayne Waters decided to retire to start spending more time fishing, traveling and just enjoying life. Wayne has never completely stepped away he has continued to make sure that everything is running smoothly.

Wayne has taught us all so much. His attention to planning and detail is unmatched.In 2016 Josh Stice came along side of Scott Stice in running NEI,inc Before long Josh was running the day to day operations of NEI,inc Scott bought a small ranch in Salmon, Idahoand started running cows In 2022 Josh moved his family toSalmon Idaho.Josh and Scott decided they wanted to start a mass Grading/excavation company in the Treasure Valley, Idaho in 2026 they both moved there family’s to the treasure valley and opened an office in Nampa Id starting NEI earthworks llc. Where they hope to become the premier mass grading/excavation contractor in the Treasure valley. Helping their customers threw the design process with take offs and 3D modeling to help their customers create a balanced site on time and in budget
